Middle of the Week
This was the start of my boxes the other day. These types of boxes take a lot of time to make but I enjoy making them and haven't done so in a while so they where on my list this week. Things are drying SOOOOOOOOOO SLOW around here. Its like watching paint dry.... I also started to load up a bisque. Here are dinner plates, some bottles and my bread a butter...tiles.
One of my girls the other day asked me when I was going to take some of their drawing again and turn them into a "pot". Those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile remember that I tried this on a few plates but...they where just sort of "OK". I do like this idea. My girls have some great characters that they draw and I hate to let those images pass me by. I was thinking the other day that I may take a few of those images and change them a bit for alittle different subject matter on these tiles I make. So far I do flowers, houses and cupcakes. So many idea's some days pop into my head that I'm never sure if I'll ever be able to try them all. Good thing we have sketch books...right?

I love it when pots dry slowly...those flat bottles look sweet.
Can't wait to see your girl's adapted images on your tiles.
do you feel like sharing the box construction? that would be a great demo...love em and your bisque pack very creative..
it all looks great!
wow, i just told my 6yo daughter the other day that i was going to try to put her drawings on a few pieces. she got so excited! i figure that even if they just turn out OK they'll be good for us to use here at home. and if they're good she gets some of the cash lol.... your bottles look lovely, hope you post some pictures of the finished product. :)
wow, you just heap all that in there!
Yep...I love to "heap" my bisque!
(Really its just the angle of the photo. Everything is laying very nicely on each other.)
That was a good laugh after a long day at the office.
i think about that all the time... trying to get the kid's drawings onto the pots. i didn't trust giving sofia black stain or cobalt stain because i thought she might get it in her mouth. i did, however, give her a big vase and some iron oxide stain but she wouldn't draw like she does with a marker or pencil, instead she tried to cover the entire vase with the little brush. i still like it but it's not like the characters she draws on paper
Jen, the pots in that first picture look like Pope hats. LOL. I think putting kid drawings on pots is a very cool idea.
Hmm, I was just thinking... every parent loves their kids' drawings - would be cool if you could do that for other people. I'd pay for a pot with my kids drawings (well some of them anyway). It would be a great gift idea for grandparents especially.
Congrats on winning the lottery! Will be great if we can all get in.
