I got all my mugs to the church today. They where glazed very plainly and went over well. Guess I should of taken a photo of them but they where so far removed from my normal stuff I thought I'd just box them up and send them on there way to do what I intended them too...make money for a good charity.
The opening for the Lark and Key was a lot of fun on Friday. Hopefully I'll get some photo's back from my friend Julie this week to post on here.
Here is my mug shot for the day. This was my morning coffee and this is an old mug made by one of my very good friends Amy Evans. Amy went to grad school with me and she makes GREAT pots. She, like most of us has had to put making pots on the side because she needs to teach and support her household. Her husband is also a potter and works as the clay studio cordinator for Arrowmont in Gatlinburg Tennessee. I hope one day both of them will just be able to make pots and do what we all love to do. This mug does not do Amy's pots justice!

Hey, glad you are going to the Potter's Conference. It's really a wonderful weekend and I always learn something I can use. I'm still chewing on ideas that came up over 5 years ago at the conference, so well worth the money.
I've got one appointment with a gallery in Mississippi and my sister is having a "home event", so there is potential for more work and even sales!
I loved the tiles you have at Treasures show and the photos of your work look so great from the last post!
Thanks Vicky!
I think jumping on the homesale band-wagon is a good way to go these days since show prices are so high!
I'm only going to be able to get the conferance on Saturday and sunday but I know I'll pick up something atleast for my students.

Hey Jen,
I think it is time I sent you an updated piece. Expect a new mug before summer. I promise. Your work is looking great and the kiln is getting so close. How exciting! Utilitarian Clay is coming up this fall. You have a free place to stay as well as anyone who wants to tag along. We will probably let Eli have some fun at Grammy and Pops house for the weekend. I envy the high speed connection. We looked into it, but they would have had to put a satelite dish right smack in the middle of our front yard. A large on too! Yuck!
Talk to you soon,
Amy E
Oh goody, I new mug~
I would love to bunk with you all. Are you planning on going to the conferance? Is that why Eli is going away? I can't wait to see him!
The high speed ROCKS!

I`ve always wanted to construct a perminent kiln. I have room in the back for a big long wood burner with its own shed.
Big ideas, I moved the raku kiln today, reset the cans and did some re-bricking in one of the bisquers. I`m flat worn out. Nice looking mug!
Hey,
Is this some elaborate (or not so elaborate) scheme to get new mugs? I bought Chuck a bread machine for Valentines. (I would say we are past the romantic phase of our commitment) He is building me a chicken coop for my 37th bird-day. Don't forget to wish me a happy bird-day March 7th.
Amy
